Learn How to Connect the Zendesk Integration

Overview
The Zendesk integration connects Tello IAM to your Zendesk account using OAuth. The connection requires only the Zendesk subdomain — authorization is completed by signing in to Zendesk directly. No API tokens or keys are generated or stored manually.
Before connecting
The Administrator completing this setup must have admin credentials for the Zendesk account. If multi-factor authentication is enabled on the Zendesk account, have the MFA device available — the sign-in during authorization will prompt for it.
Connect Zendesk in Tello IAM
- Navigate to Integrations in the left navigation.
- Select + Add Integration.
- Search for Zendesk and select Add. The Connect to Zendesk dialog opens.
- Enter the account subdomain in the Zendesk Subdomain field. Enter only the subdomain segment — for example,
companyforcompany.zendesk.com. - Select Login to Zendesk. The browser redirects to the Zendesk sign-in page for the subdomain.
- Sign in with Zendesk admin credentials and complete the MFA prompt if presented.
- Authorize the requested access. The browser returns to Tello IAM.
Confirmation: The integration appears on the Integrations page. The status displays Pending during authorization and initial sync, then changes to Active.
Verify the connection
After the initial sync completes, confirm the following on the Integrations page:
- The Zendesk integration displays a status of
Active - A sync timestamp is present and reflects the completed sync
- User records on the Users page display detected Zendesk permissions in the Access column
Reauthorizing the connection
If the Zendesk integration loses authorization, it will display an error on the Integrations page. To reauthorize, select the integration row, select Configure, and repeat the login flow with Zendesk admin credentials.
