Learn How to Connect the Shopify Integration

Overview
The Shopify integration connects Tello IAM to your Shopify organization using SCIM provisioning. The connection requires a SCIM API Token generated from Shopify organization admin settings.
Before connecting
The Administrator completing this setup must have Admin access to the Shopify organization. A verified domain and SAML authentication must be configured in Shopify before the SCIM integration section becomes available.
Step 1: Generate a SCIM API Token in Shopify
- Sign in to the Shopify organization admin.
- Navigate to Settings → Users → Security.
- Scroll to the SCIM integration section.
- Select Generate API token.
- Copy the token immediately. It will only be displayed once.
Important: Copy the SCIM API Token before leaving this page. It will not be shown again. If lost, a new token must be generated. If the SCIM integration section is not visible, confirm that your domain is verified and SAML authentication is configured.
Step 2: Connect Shopify in Tello IAM
- Navigate to Integrations in the left navigation.
- Select + Add Integration.
- Search for Shopify and select Add.
- Enter the SCIM API Token in the SCIM API Token field.
- Select Test Connection to verify the token is valid. A Connection successful confirmation will appear if accepted.
- Select Connect. The integration appears on the Integrations page and an initial sync begins automatically.
Verify the connection
After the initial sync completes, confirm the following on the Integrations page:
- The Shopify integration displays a status of
Active - A sync timestamp is present and reflects the completed sync
- User records on the Users page display detected Shopify permissions in the Access column
Reauthorizing the connection
If the Shopify integration loses authorization, it will display an error on the Integrations page. To reauthorize, generate a new SCIM API Token in Shopify organization admin, then select the integration row in Tello IAM, select Configure, and enter the new token.
