Integration Guide: BambooHR

Overview

The BambooHR integration connects Tello IAM to your BambooHR account using OAuth. The connection requires only the BambooHR company domain — authorization is completed by signing in to BambooHR and approving access. Tello IAM receives read-only access to employee data.

Before connecting

The Administrator completing this setup must have BambooHR credentials with permission to authorize third-party applications.

Connect BambooHR in Tello IAM

1. Navigate to Integrations in the left navigation.
2. Select + Add Integration.
3. Search for BambooHR and select Add. The Connect to BambooHR dialog opens.
4. Enter the company domain in the Company Domain field. Enter only the subdomain segment — for example, acme for acme.bamboohr.com.
5. Select Login to BambooHR. The browser redirects to the BambooHR sign-in page.
6. Sign in with BambooHR credentials.
7. On the Share access with Tello IAM? screen, review the requested permissions. Tello IAM requests read-only access to 3 scopes: OpenID Claims, Employee, and Miscellaneous. Select Allow Access.

Confirmation: Tello IAM displays a Connection Established dialog. The connection name can be edited here using the pencil icon. Select Done. The integration appears on the Integrations page with a status of Pending during the initial sync, then changes to Active.

Verify the connection

After the initial sync completes, confirm the following on the Integrations page:

• The BambooHR integration displays a status of Active
• A sync timestamp is present and reflects the completed sync
• User records on the Users page display synced BambooHR employee data

Reauthorizing the connection

If the BambooHR integration loses authorization, it will display an error on the Integrations page. To reauthorize, select the integration row, select Configure, and repeat the login and Allow Access flow with BambooHR credentials.
